Testing creator strategies to scale high-performing paid campaigns
As Lens Distortions expanded its investment in paid social, they recognized a growing need for more content. While their in-house content remained polished and premium, the missing piece was the amount of content they could test. authentic, creator-led content that could unlock new levels of performance.
Our approach to solve this was to incorporate a more intentional creator strategy, one that could integrate seamlessly with their media buying efforts.
Highlights
The Challenge
Lens Distortions had reached a pivotal point: their paid content pipeline needed fresh inputs that could scale. At the same time, they wanted to maintain the high-quality, cinematic identity their brand is known for. Enter influencer whitelisting, an opportunity to test creator-led storytelling, but with the control and amplification of paid distribution.
Yet, whitelisting isn’t just about turning on ads through a creator’s handle. It requires thoughtful coordination between the influencer team and the paid team, ensuring the right creators, creative concepts, and performance signals align.
Our Approach
In this initial phase, our goal was to test and learn. We supported Lens Distortions in launching their first-ever whitelisting program with an emphasis on:
Identifying and vetting creators who could authentically align with the LD brand, especially in filmmaking, athletic, and creator spaces
Managing communications and approvals across all influencer touchpoints, ensuring frictionless coordination
Developing frameworks for creative testing, helping explore different types of hooks, voiceovers, and performance styles
Building internal systems to track usage rights, ad permissions, and campaign insights, setting the foundation for ongoing scalability

Impact
This first phase wasn’t about perfecting, it was about exploration. Perhaps most importantly, the foundation is now in place.
Looking Ahead
With this pilot phase complete, the paid team has a clear step towards scaling. LD now has the confidence and internal infrastructure to expand whitelisting efforts across a broader network of creators, with content that can perform, and a system that can grow with them.
